Terms and Conditions for Self-Drive Car Hire

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the self-drive car hire services provided by Cape Town Shuttle Services ("Company") to its customers ("You" or "Customer"). By accessing or using our self-drive car hire services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your booking.

1. Booking and Reservation:

• All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Company.
• You must provide accurate and complete information during the booking process.
• The minimum age requirement for renting a car is 21 years old. A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of pickup.

2. Rental Period:

• The rental period begins and ends at the times specified in the booking confirmation.
• Any extension of the rental period must be agreed upon in advance and may be subject to additional charges.

3. Rental Fees and Payment:

• Rental fees are calculated based on the duration of the rental period and any additional services requested.
• Payment must be made in full before the commencement of the rental period.
• A refundable deposit of R5000 will be required upon pickup of the car. This deposit will be refunded in full if the car is returned in the same condition as it was rented, subject to inspection by the Company and should reflect in your account given within 7 business days.

4. Condition of the Car:

• You are responsible for returning the car in the same condition as it was rented, with reasonable wear and tear excepted.
• The car will be presented to you will a full tank and should be returned on full with receipt of refill.
• Any damage to the car during the rental period must be reported to the Company immediately.
• You will be held liable for any damage or loss to the car, including but not limited to accidents, theft, or vandalism.

5. Use of the Car:

• The car must only be used for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• You must not use the car for any illegal activities, including but not limited to smuggling, transporting illegal substances, or participating in criminal acts.

6. Insurance:

• The rental fee includes basic insurance coverage for the car.
• Additional insurance coverage may be available upon request, subject to additional charges.

7. Cancellation and Refunds:

• Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the commencement of the rental period may be eligible for a full refund.
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the commencement of the rental period may be subject to a cancellation fee.

8. Liability:

• The Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising out of or in connection with the use of the car, except to the extent caused by the Company's negligence.
• If the car is returned without a receipt of refill on return, a Service Cost of R150 will be deducted from the deposit for refuel check - including refuelling costs thereof.

9. Governing Law:

• These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.

10. Changes to Terms:

• The Company reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any such changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
